What are the APEGA requirements for a P.Eng. / P.Geo.?
According to APEGA, these are the requirements for a P.Eng. / P.Geo:
- 4 years of work experience in engineering or geoscience
- valid references
- proof of permanent resident status or Canadian citizenship
- competency in written and spoken English
- a passing grade on the National Professional Practice Exam
- good character and reputation
- a graduate of a university program that meets one of the following:
- is recognized by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (for engineering applicants)
- meets the requirements of the Geoscience Knowledge and Experience Requirements (for geoscience applicants)
- is a related program that the APEGA Board of Examiners considers to be equivalent to the above

Work experience
Note that this doesn't strictly have to be actual work experience, as time spent in graduate studies can be used for this requirement.
